What to expect

Inner World, Outer World — a 25-minute meditation in Jenna and Jessi’s own words, read by Jessi

It moves from the world around you to the world within, and then back out to meet the outer world from that quieter place.

How to listen:

  • Somewhere you can sit or lie comfortably with your eyes closed. Never while driving.
  • No headphones needed.
  • There are long quiet stretches, especially in the middle. That is part of it.
  • If anything feels like too much, open your eyes, feel what is holding you up, and let the room come back.

About

Before you listen. Somewhere you can sit comfortably with your eyes closed. Not for driving.

Opening

Find a comfortable seat. Sit up tall. Soften your eyes closed. Take a moment to become still. Allow your body to settle. Take a deep breath in…

Exhale, and let your body relax.

Take another deep inhale,

And as you exhale feel your body relax.

One more deep inhale, pause,

Exhale and feel your body fully let go.

For these next few moments, simply be here.

Part One: The Outer World

Begin by noticing the world around you. The sounds. The temperature of the air. The weight of your body, and where you’re touching the earth. This is your outer world. The world you move through every day. The world of people, places, things, and experiences. So much of life happens here. This is where we build,

create,

connect,

and love. And there is so much beauty in the outer world. The faces of people we love. Music. Starlight. A good meal. A deep conversation. The places that take our breath away. The moments we’ll remember forever.

But there is another world we live in. A world beneath everything you can see. Your inner world. thoughts.

emotions.

memories.

dreams.

reactions.

peace. Your sense of who you are.

And here is something worth remembering: You don’t experience the outer world directly. You experience it through your inner world. Your inner world is the lens.

Imagine two people watching the same sunset. One is at peace within. She sees the colors, feels the warmth, and her heart opens. Another person stands beside her, restless, anxious, carrying something heavy inside. She sees the same sky… and barely notices it. Same sunset. Same sky. Two completely different experiences. The difference isn’t the world. It’s the world within.

So often we look outward for fulfillment. The next achievement,

experience,

person, place, or thing that will finally make us feel whole. But if we are not at peace within, even the most beautiful outer world can feel like it’s not enough. And when we are whole within, even the simplest moment can feel like everything.

Part Two: Turning Inward

So today, we turn inward. We begin to tune. Like an instrument returning to its natural pitch. Like a radio finding the frequency it has been searching for. Allow your awareness to move beneath the surface.

Notice your breath. Your body. Your emotions, without needing to change them. Your thoughts, without getting carried away by them. And notice the quiet presence underneath it all. The part of you that is simply… here.

There is a different quality here. Perhaps more spacious. More grounded. More peaceful. Maybe something subtle. A quietness. A warmth. A sense of coming home.

This is your inner world. And within it live the qualities you’ve been searching for outside of yourself. Peace.

Love.

Joy.

Gratitude.

Trust.

Wholeness.

You don’t have to earn these. They don’t come from out there. They already exist within you. You are simply learning to become available to them.

Take a moment now to feel your own inner frequency. Notice simply how you feel, without judgement. If peace had a frequency, what would it feel like?

If love had a frequency, where would you feel it in your body?

If wholeness had a frequency, what would it feel like to rest there?

Simply experience.

And notice: When you feel whole within, you no longer need the outer world to complete you. You can enjoy it, without depending on it. You can love it, without needing it to define you. You can receive it fully, because you are no longer reaching for it to fill something that’s missing.

This is the gift of tending your inner world. The outer world doesn’t change. But the way you experience it does. The colors become brighter. The connections become deeper. The ordinary becomes sacred. Because you are finally present enough to receive it.

Let these words settle into you: I am whole within myself. I carry peace within me. I carry love within me. The fullness I seek begins within. As I tend my inner world, I can fully receive the beauty of the outer world.

Take one final moment here. Feel your body. your breath. the world within you. And know: I am here. I am whole. Everything I need exists within myself.

Part Three: The Return

When you’re ready, begin to gently return your awareness back into your body. Notice the sounds around you. The ground beneath you. The air on your skin. Notice that the outer world is still here, waiting for you. And now you meet it from a place of wholeness. Stay tuned to this frequency as you go. Carry your inner world with you. Let it be the lens through which you see. And meet the outer world full, open, and complete. Slowly, when you’re ready, open your eyes.
