Guided meditation

Sine Waves and the Ocean

A melody of pure tones comes apart, and the ocean comes close

Sound: Seven pure tones in a slow, plucked melody, made for this piece, with soft binaural tones beneath them. They leave one by one while real ocean surf comes from far away to all around you.

What to expect

You hear a soft melody made of pure tones, with the sea far off behind it. A calm voice asks you to imagine yourself made of those tones. Then the tones leave, one at a time, highest first. Each one leaves a gap in the melody. As the notes go, the ocean comes closer. By the end the last note has gone and you are resting among the waves. Then you come back to the room with your eyes open.

Under it, seven pure tones play a slow, plucked melody, made for this piece. Soft binaural tones sit beneath them. Real ocean surf comes from far away to all around you.

How to listen:

  • Sitting or lying down, any time you want to rest and come back clear. Never while driving.
  • Headphones help. The notes and their echoes move between your ears, and the sea opens out around you.
  • You can move whenever you like.

About

Safety and aftercare. You can stop at any point. Take a moment before you stand up at the end. This is a way of resting. It isn’t a treatment for anything.
